| Log Splitters Direct Recommendation |
| By Log Splitters Direct |
This unit earned the "Best" position because it has all of the features of "Good" and "Better", and a little bit more.
2 speeds give you the choice of using the faster 4-ton setting for smaller wood; or choose the 7-ton setting for larger logs requiring more force.
The nice part is you can split at the more powerful 7-ton setting, then easily switch to the faster 4-ton setting to return the ram quickly. It's the best of both worlds- powerful and efficient.
The unit is well balanced on large wheels, with the main weight towards the axle so it's easy to move around. It is designed for home use and 3-prong outlets; just don't try and run it at temperatures below 41 degrees. |

| Love the splitter |
| By Emory (Tijeras, NM) |
I love the splitter. It split year-old, still green pinon logs very well- some up to 16 inches in diameter.
The largest ones required flipping the piece repeatedly, but eventually it split 99% of what I needed to do.
My one complaint is that the wheels are cheap and the stance of the wheels could be wider for more stable transport around the yard. |

| Unfortunate event! |
| By Richard Hebert (Bend, OR) |
I wish I could report good news but my splitter has completely stopped working after only 4 uses and a total of about 10 logs.
I was really impressed while it worked but suddenly last night, while trying to split a lot, the motor stalled and now will not work at all. I followed the instructions strictly but I did wonder about this machine in that the power levels never seemed to work like the book says.
I even spoke to a gentleman at Betst (the manufacturer) and he told me the description was written in reverse! ie. to cut the bigger logs you have to bring the control lever back toward the off position. It is when I did just that, my machine stalled and fails to work now.
I have contacted Betst in Oregon and I am awaiting their call. I am really bumming out.
LSD RESPONDS: We understand your disappointment; but the folks at Betst will be happy to help you.
One thing about electric log splitters- they stop working if left out in freezing temperatures. Please make sure you are working in a garage or barn that stays warmer than 40 degrees or so. |

| Should pay for itself |
| By bill skelaney (Chesapeake, VA) |
I just got my Pow-r-craft splitter today. It took about 1.5 weeks to get to my house once I ordered it. It came by semi truck on a pallet.
I opened it up and read the instructions and I was splitting wood in a few minutes. It definitely worked well on the stumps I had laying around waiting to be split.
My wife and I knocked out about 20 stumps in about an hour. It worked great, except a couple of stumps won over the machine's power due to the number of knots in them. I just tossed those in the trash. The other stumps were split with ease.
There really is no need for the 4 ton feature...it doesn't give it enough strength to split most of the logs I had. The 7 ton worked very well.
Definitely a good purchase for the money. I figure I just saved 75 bucks renting a splitter today.
The machine should be paying for itself by the end of next season. |

| Easy to handle |
| By Log Splitters Direct (Bolingbrook, IL) |
This handy splitter runs on regular household current and splits smaller, seasoned wood with ease- and lets you enjoy a warm fire in the fireplace with no stress or strain.
A built-in handle and oversize wheels make it easy to move around the garage or heated barn. It won't work well if it's left out in freezing temperatures, but then again, neither do most of us.
It's especially handy if your fire wood needs to be pared down to fit in a fireplace, chimnea, or fire pit. |

| I would recommend this to anyone |
| By Larry (Payson, AZ) |
I received my Pow R Kraft 7 ton log splitter in good order.
I only had to uncrate it, read the instructions, and plug it in. It works great and split everything I had: oak, juniper, and some pine.
A couple of the juniper logs were 16-17" diameter. In the 7- ton position it split without hesitation.
I would recommend the Pow R Kraft log splitter to anyone. |
