After installing all couplers and hoses and getting the pto delivered separately, filling the reservoir with a bit over 7 gallons of transmission fluid, I connected the pto pump to rear pto on JD 4100 and started engine.

With pto engaged the fluid pressurized the hoses and was ready for work. The three-point allows the height of the splitter to be adjusted based on your needs.

Splitter functioned as expected with no hesitation on all logs, maple, basswood, black locust and willow.

Splitter has all hydraulics on end away from ram so no issues with falling wood striking a coupler.

Works well in both horizontal and vertical with no issues of any sort.

It took two weeks to arrive and the shipper wanted to charge me for a delivery to a different location or even if I picked it up at the local shipping office.

The splitter works fine and tackled some very big old knotty wood. It is fast and well designed.

I would suggest that the splitter come with a diagram on how to hook up the plumbing. I had no trouble but a lot of head scratching.

It would be good if there were a default on each end of the stroke. If you don't let go of the handle at the end of the split stroke, it can stall the tractor (30 horsepower diesel engine) and could possibly damage the pump or the PTO shaft.
