Q: I have a horizontal/verticle troy bilt log splitter that i am interested in putting a 4 way wedge on. im not sure on wich product to purchase because in most pictures i see i notice the wedge is on the bottom of the beam and not on the cylinder like on my splitter. so my question is will the 4 way you guys sell work on my splitter.

First, take a look at the video to see how the wedge works. We're pretty sure you'll be impressed.
It's important to realize the wedge slips over your existing, single splitting head, and is sized to take the strain of, in this case, 20 and 25 tons of pressure. You need to match the size of the wedge to the size of your splitter.
It's also important to consider what style of splitter you have. This accessory will only work on units with a horizontal beam, where the ram pushes the wood into a stationary wedge. It will not work on horizontal / vertical units, where the wedge is on the ram, pushing into a flat plate.

Impressive
Used the splitter as soon as it arrived -- split hardwood- oak & maple -- green split no problem!!!
unit was impressive and I'm sure will be very cost effective for us.
I would highly recommend this splitter to anyone who would needs to split wood on a occasional basis.

4 way wedge
It in concept is great but when the wedge hits knots it causes the unit to twist and brake. They need a stronger band around the back to hold the wedge to the ram. This is my second one. the first one lasted longer than this one. I have sent one back to be repaired so hopefully thet can make it work. When it was in operation it cut the time in half so hopefully they can get it back to peak operation.

I like the Idea of this product but the horizantil wedge dents very easy which of course hinders the operation.Its like the metal is not strong enough. what should I do to remove the dents and bends.

You show you used the 20/25 ton wedge with a 33 ton splitter; that's 8 tons, or 16,000 more pounds of pressure than the wedge is rated for. That may be why the wedge is denting, and may not be covered under warranty.
Please always use accessories that are rated for the strength of your particular unit.

I am rating this splitter in the middle mainly because I have not used it yet! Once all this snow goes away and I can get it out of my shed I would like to finish this review!
I found Log Splitters Direct on the internet. It was a pleasure to find a company that worked so hard to make me, the customer happy! I ordered my splitter December seventh and did not get it till January fifth, and when it came Ramsplitter outfitted the splitter in the wrong configuration. I was upset to say the least!
I called Log Splitters Direct, and right away they called the manufacturer, sent back the splitter, got it fixed, and sent it back to me! It's very hard to find a store in your area where you can see the product. Even harder when you buy it on the internet.
Whatever you buy, make sure you deal with a company like Log Splitters Direct!!!
