Hi Bob - questions about the TMH2015...
1. For a 24" log, how is the cylinder mounted beneath the unit. It doesn't look long enuf ?? I would expect the overall length of the unit to be MORE than twice the length of the cylinder travel.
2. What does the 2 year warrantee cover?
3. Where is the unit made and do you stock IN THE USA all parts needed for repair if the unit fails outside the warrantee time?
4. What would happen if I exceeded the 100 pound max log weight? (Not that I plan to - I can't lift that much?
5. I'm wondering if 20 tons is enough. My logs will be typically 20 - 24" long and up to 16" diameter. Mostly of white and black oak, sourgum and some sycamore, all with knots, of course. Do you have any hints on how to orient logs-with-knots to avoid jams?
6. What 3-point hitch splitters do you have that will split vertically as well as horizontal for under $1500?
Thanks,
Jack

Answer
Jack,
1) Brave uses a beam in beam design. The internal beam is pushed out away from the tractor as the cylinder is actuated. This allows for a much shorter length splitter and still gives you the full 24" log length capacity.
2) The warranty is pretty standard. It's 2 years parts and labor covering defects in material and workmanship. I included a link below. The warranty is covered at the end of the owners manual.
3) This splitter is made in Minnesota and parts are stocked by the manufacturer.
4) The 100lbs log weight limit is just an industry standard. Logs may exceed 100lbs without a problem.
5) This 20 ton splitter will split 16" diameter logs. You can try to avoid splitting directly through a knot but I know sometimes that is unavoidable.
6) Here is a list of our vertical/horizontal 3-point log splitters under $1,500.
