I sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced with the power cable. Based on the owners manual of your Toro 51585, using a cord length of 100ft requires a minimum 14 gauge extension cord, which is what we sold to you. You can see this information at the very bottom of page 2, right here: Toro 51585 Owners Manual

Additionally, based on our phone discussion, you mentioned that you had been going through many power cables, which is why you wanted to make sure the one we sold would work. Per the instruction manual, this is the correct gauge cable for the length of the cord. One thing to make sure is that the power cable is completely plugged in to the wall. If the cord is not completely plugged in, the cord will not serve 100% power to the unit, and will begin to curl up like a shoelace, which destroys the ability to deliver full power as well.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the issue lies with the Toro 51585 motor. If your unit is still under warranty, I would suggest that you contact a certified repair center to assist with the maintenance. If the unit is still under warranty then you will not be charged for the repairs. I have included three repair centers located near you below.
